Signode provides multiple strapping hand tools for use with steel strap. Providing a full range of battery powered, pneumatic and manual tools for tensioning and sealing.
Using steel strap is great for high-temperature applications, sharp edged loads such as steel sheets which could cut plastic alternatives. In addition, steel strap is used for extermely heavy, non-compressible loads.
This is how the steel is wound onto the spool, this can impact how much strap is on each coil and how it can be dispensed.
- Ribbon Wound: Each layer is wound directly on top of the layer below. This allows for lighter weight metal coils
- Oscillated Wound: Strap is wound back and forth across a wider core. Allows for more footage per coil, ideal for high-volume lines.
The choice comes down to the intensity of application and shock resistance required.
- Apex: Designed for "static" loads where the package does not shift much during transport.
- Magnus: Designed for use where higher shock resistance is required if loads may drop or suddently shift.
