Tensioner Types
Signode offers multiple different manual strapping tensioner types; including Windlass, push-type, rack and pinion and feedwheel. What is the difference between each type of tensioner?
Windlass
The windlass tensioner simply winds one end of the strapping around a slotted windlass shaft. Used with dry, heavier strapping precut to desired lengths.
4A1
Push Type
The push-type tensioner is designed for round or irregular bundles which require strap to be wrapped around them.
PF
Feedwheel
The feedwheel tensioner for general use, this type of tool has a serrated feedwheel which engages the strapping firmly. No limit exists to the amount of slack it can pull out of the strap. Fast and easy to use, it requires the use of painted and waxed strapping.
ST
Rack and Pinion
The rack-and-pinion tensioner uses a serrated gripping dog to hold the pulled strap end. You can use it with either dry or lubricated strapping on round or irregularly shaped packages. This tensioner has limited take-up.
