Z-20 Strapping System Reduces
Costs Associated with Lumber
and Panel Packaging
GLENVIEW, ILLINOIS — Designed to lower the
overall packaging costs associated with lumber and panel packaging,
Signode Packaging Systems introduces the innovative Z-20 strapping
system. Engineered with a number of cost and timesaving features
to facilitate easier maintenance and operation, the Z-20 requires
minimal maintenance, maximizing overall productivity.
The Z-20 features a lightweight, modular design
with separate tensioning and sealing heads. The heads, weighing
less than 60 lbs. each, are easy to access and remove, without
requiring tools or special handling equipment. When utilizing a
spare head during routine maintenance, downtime can be limited
to less than three minutes.
Along with the savings in maintenance and labor
costs, the Z-20 also reduces material costs. The system cuts strap
at the joint, eliminating strap waste. Additional features include
fewer moving parts, more durable wear parts and no belts, pulleys
or adjustments.
The Z-20 is easily retrofitted to previously
installed systems and competitive strapping machines.
